Originally built for the 1901 Pan American Exposition to serve as the New York State building, this beautiful black and white photograph depicts what is now the Buffalo History Building, home of the Buffalo and Western New York Historical Society.

The image has been meticulously restored to remove stray marks and imperfections from the scanned version of the original Detroit Publishing Company photograph. Photograph courtesy of the Library of Congress.
